Kindling

Gene Parsons

image
Released: May 2008
Label: Rhino/Warner Records
After Gene Parsons (no relation to Gram) left the Byrds in 1972, the multi-instrumentalist released a handful of solo records, most of them specializing in West Coast-flavored folk pop, bluegrass and roots rock. Kindling is Parsons' first and best effort. It features a host of amazing musicians, including Appalachian legend Ralph Stanley, guitar genius Clarence White and fiddler Vassar Clements. If you're a fan of the Flying Burrito Brothers, the Eagles and other hippie cowboys, definitely check out Kindling.
