Shame Shame (Bonus Tracks)

Dr. Dog

image
Released: Apr 2010
Label: Anti/Epitaph
Shame, Shame isn't a radical break for Dr. Dog. Our heroes from Philly still filter indie pop through Beach Boy dreaminess and vintage Americana. However, the ecstatic joy marking previous releases seems to have dissipated significantly. Could this be the group's Stage Fright? Sure sounds like it. Even on a peppy number like "Unbearable Why" (awesome title), Dr. Dog sounds tired and weary, as if all those years on the road have finally caught up with them. "Where'd All the Time Go?," indeed.
